Maintenance monitoring system upgraded to keep tabs on pumps, axes
CMS Lite Wittmann Battenfeld’s condition-monitoring system (CMS) continuously checks the status of servo-hydraulic axes on the company’s machinery; using this information, the system can determine the condition of the pump and axis valves.
What’s new? Wittmann’s so-called health factor — a feature that uses the colors red, yellow and green to alert users to the status of axes and pumps. At the K show, Wittmann plans to demonstrate the system on a SmartPlus 90/350 injection molding machine making an ABS part. Compared with Wittmann’s first attempts at a CMS — which the company rolled out in 2017 — the most recent iterations feature cloud data storage, a user dashboard and customer-service dashboard. Also, unlike those earliest editions of Wittmann’s CMS, no external master computer is needed to use the current system.
Benefits Real-time connectivity to Wittmann service professionals. With the system, users can get a heads-up from service staff when they see deviations in the health factor, simplifying and accelerating remote service.
