Insulation blankets Shannon Global Energy Solutions reusable thermal blankets are weather- and chemical-resistant, are easy to install and removand can be used to insulate a wide variety of equipment, such as pipes, pumps and ovens, as well as plastics processing machinery. Each blanket can be tailored to the dimensions of a specific machine and features integral fasteners and double-sewn construction.

What’s new? The MT850SSI line of high-temperature insulation blankets, which hit the market at the beginning of the year. They are specifically designed to protect extruder barrels, extruder heads, blow molding equipment and injection molding machines; shown is an MT850SSI blanket on a blow molding head. The blankets can withstand temperatures of up to 850 degrees Fahrenheit; in comparison, the company’s LT550SG blankets for plastics processing equipment have a maximum temperature of 550 degrees Fahrenheit. The company can supply blankets that can handle even higher temperatures on a custom basis. (Read more about the company's custom blankets at https://plasticsmachinerymagazine.com/21117114.)

Benefits Worker safety and energy savings. The blankets protect workers from burns and keep the manufacturing environment cooler and more comfortable. They help processing equipment retain heat, reducing energy usage. Additionally, because the blankets are easy to install and remove, workers can conveniently service and adjust equipment.
