SP 170 The SP 170 injection unit, developed by Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG, Neustadt-Fernthal, Germany, features a shorter design, giving it a more compact footprint than previous models. The unit, which is available for new Boy machines, comes with screw diameters of 28mm, 32mm, 38mm and 42mm. The maximum injection pressure is 32,000 pounds per square inch. Boy says it is particularly suited for making thin-wall parts or parts with a long flow path.

What's new? The injection unit, which was shown for the first time at the K show.

Benefits Better accessibility to the hopper and easier connections to auxiliary equipment such as dryers and conveyors. The plasticizing unit swivels to facilitate changeover of the molding machine. It fills the gap between Boy's SP 82 and SP 205 injection units.
