Kansas City company invests in W&H equipment

Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp., Lincoln, R.I., has announced that a Kansas City, Kan., packaging company has joined its ranks of customers after purchasing two 10-color Miraflex flexographic presses.

Plastic Packaging Technologies LLC, which makes a variety of pouches and bags, purchased the presses for its Kansas City and Columbus, Ohio, facilities. The presses, which will be installed later this year and early next year, are equipped with W&H's Easy Automation modules.

The presses also have cameras from BST Eltromat  International GmbH, Bielefeld, Germany, for continual on-line color monitoring and verification. The company, which makes monitoring equipment, touts 100 percent detection of defects.
