Bekum announces leadership changes

Nov. 1, 2024
Thomas Aigner becomes COO; Martin Hobl and Oliver Griesing join European management team.

The Bekum Group, Traismauer, Austria, in late October made a number of management changes intended to strengthen its global position and give it the flexibility to react to future market demands.

To be able to concentrate more on the company’s strategic development and strengthen its leadership in Europe, Michael Mehnert, managing partner and owner, has appointed Thomas Aigner as COO. In addition, Aigner, Martin Hobl and Oliver Griesing have been appointed to a new management team in Europe. Hobl also has been appointed as a company officer.

Aigner, who joined Bekum’s management team in May 2021 as CFO, will expand his responsibilities to include operations. He has more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles in finance and controlling.

Hobl will expand his current responsibilities to include the areas of sales, marketing and engineering. Since joining Bekum in January 2016, he has been responsible for technical sales and project management.

Griesing, who joined Bekum Maschinenfabrik Traismauer GesmbH in October 2020 as director of global service, will continue in his role overseeing service and supply chain management.

Founded in Berlin in 1959 by Mehnert’s father, Gottfried Mehnert, Bekum Maschinenfabriken GmbH manufactures extrusion blow molding machines and employs 350 people in the U.S., Germany and Austria.
