Kautex unveils 6-layer extrusion head

Kautex plans to unveil a six-layer extrusion head developed for packaging applications.

Kautex will demonstrate its new, six-layer extrusion head on its KCC10S blow molding machine at Chinaplas.Kautex Machines Inc.Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH, Bonn, Germany, plans to unveil a new, six-layer extrusion head developed for packaging applications in the food industry.

The six-layer head can produce multilayer plastic containers with a volume of between 500 milliliters (ml) and 1,500 ml. The new CP50 head has a minimum center distance of 140mm and is available with up to six parisons. The head is compatible with Kautex machines from the KCC and KBB series, and in some cases can be retrofitted on other machines, according to the company.

Kautex engineers in Germany and China developed the new head. Kautex will make the head at its Foshan, China, plant.

The company will demonstrate the extrusion head publicly for the first time at Chinaplas 2019 in Guangzhou, China, where it will be installed on a single-station Kautex KCC10S blow molding machine. The machine will produce six-layer, 1,000-ml milk bottles.
