Sipa now offers an upgraded version of the XForm 500 preform injection molding system that it introduced at NPE 2012.

XForm 500 EVO Sipa now offers an upgraded version of the XForm 500 preform injection molding system that it introduced at NPE 2012. Both the original version, as well as the new EVO, can be fitted with a 120mm or 140mm extruder with respective hourly outputs of about 1,764 pounds or 2,646 pounds. They have a dry cycle time of 1.6 seconds or faster on a 400mm stroke. The machines can handle all kinds of preforms, including long and heavy preforms, and molds with as many as 144 cavities; it's also capable of handling PET made from up to 50 percent recycled resin.

What's new? Automation enhancements, including a new high-speed cooling robot.

Benefits More effective cooling using the new robot to cut cycle times and improve dimensional consistency. Sipa's end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) can be configured with three or four cooling stages; the design incorporates much faster communications that make it possible to check the cooling tube while the EOAT is moving below it. The XForm 500 EVO works with both new EOAT, as well as existing EOAT, and the machine is cost-efficient to operate and maintain.
