Machinery maker Milacron Holdings Corp., Cincinnati, and processor Consolidated Container Co., Atlanta, have announced the development of Dura-Lite, a family of containers that is stronger and lighter than other gallon and half-gallon square bottles on the market that are used for dairy and water.
Technologies from Consolidated Container and Uniloy, Milacron's blow molding machinery brand, were used to create the containers that feature radiuses, ribs and angles designed to work together to achieve gram weight reduction but without the loss of structural integrity.
The containers are expected to be on retailers' shelves early this year.
