KoolTrack StackTeck Systems, a maker of multi-cavity, high-volume production molds, launched its new mold-cooling technology at NPE. The company uses cooling simulation to design the optimal cooling channel geometry.

What's new? The proprietary bonding technology. Intricate cooling channels are cut into steel parts that are then bonded together to make cores and cavities with ideal cooling circuits inside. The bonding process, which the company describes as being as strong as the steel itself, allows the company more freedom to apply cooling wherever it is needed within the mold.

Benefits Reduced cycle times. Cycle times of 10 seconds or less can typically be cut by 10 to 15 percent.
